Lecture Assignments
Assignment 1
We started this session by discussing the 4.0 Scaffolding material - Programming metaphor assignment. My assignment was presented as a good example, which was nice to hear. After that, we went through the new rubric. This discussion took some time, but it helped clear up many of the questions and confusion we had beforehand.
Once that was finished, we moved on to the main part of the session: presenting the slides we had prepared for Assignment 5.1 Group Assignment - Playground design. Our group presented first and showed the two designs we had created.
The first design ('Safe Electrical Components') was a breadboard with built-in safety features (see Figures 1 and 2). The second design ('Website Wireframe Kit') was a physical website wireframe designer (see Figures 3 and 4).
We received several good questions from the class and eventually concluded that the second design was the better option. This was also confirmed by the teacher, Mr Dertien.
Unfortunately, I had to leave early to attend the faculty Programme Committee meeting. The rest of my team stayed for the remaining presentations and asked questions to the second team. Later, I heard that most of the designs were well received and that another team had developed an idea somewhat similar to ours with the wireframe designer.
